<ALLEN COUNTY FAIR>

THE 154th Allen County Fair promises to be the biggest and best yet. Nine

fun-filled days, Aug. 20-28. Come see all your alumni friends at the Bath

Wildcat Den, the best place to eat on the fair grounds.

<GREAT FUND RAISER>

Nearly $7,000 was raised during a February basketball game between

students and staff for Brady Sanchez, a Bath fourth grader diagnosed with

Hodgkin's Disease. Bath seniors Ryan Reindel and Stephanie Sielschott

organized the game and other fund-raisers. Principal Rick Gross in praise

said, "These two have  been a great reflection of our students and their

families."

The Lima News and OSU-Lima selected Mary Simindinger for the Scholar-

Athlete 2004 First-Team All-Western Buckey League in three sports:

basketball, volleyball and softball, with a 3.7 GPA, plus National Honor

Society, Student Council, Yearbook and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

In addition, Kyle T. Mason and Stephanie Sielschott were selected for

Honorable Mention.

<IN MEMORIAM LINK>

BEVERLY GRACE FETTER KLINK (BHS'64)

   Beverly Grace (Fetter) Klink, 58, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Lima, died May

16, at Banner Gardens Hospice House, Mesa, AZ, following a stroke. She

was born Dec. 1, 1945, in Lima to Paul and Arleen Fetter. Her father

preceded her in death. Her mother survives in Elida, OH. On July 29, 1966,

she maried Robert Klink, who survives. They had been married 37 years.

She was a 1964 graduate of Bath High School. In 1981, she and her

husband moved to Mesa, AZ, with their three children. Survivors also

include two daughters, Teresa (Jason) Bartosch and Becky (Steve) Hall,

both of Mesa, AZ; a son, Michael (Kristy) Klink of Tucson, AZ; four sisters;

Betty (Ron) Wendt of Chandler, AZ, Mary Arleen (Fetter) (Ron) Steiner

(BHS'65), Shirley Carolyn (Fetter) (Larry) Moser (BHS'68) and Sharon

Eileen (Fetter) (Wayne) Vice (BHS'74), all of Elida; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Barbara Gaye (Fetter) Miller

(BHS'64), who died in 1979, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Klink.

 

LEON JAMES MARTIN (BHS'75)

   Leon James Martin, 48, died May 29, at Blanchard Valley Regional

Health Center, Bluffton. He was born April 23, 1956, in Lima to Charles E.

and Kathryn Myrea (Williams) Martin. His mother survives in Lima. He was

formerly married to Lynn Wortham. He was a chef at Ryan's Steak House

and a 1975 graduate of Bath High School. Survivors include a son, Leon

James Martin II of Waynesfield; four sisters, Julia K. (Martin) Bolen of

Ninety Six, NC, Char Lena (Martin) (BHS'65) of Bluffton, Connie (Martin)

(David Fee) Binkley of Lima, and Ida (Martin) (Jack) Amstutz of Lima. He

was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Ellen (Martin) McCarty and

Mary Lee (Martin); and a brother, Lonnie Wayne Martin.

 

BARBARA LYNN (KISSEL) FRUEH (BHS'75)

   Barbara Lynn (Kissel) Frueh, 47, died Aug. 3, at St. Rita's Medical

Center. She was born Dec. 19, 1956, in Lima to former Bath Fire Chief

Charles and Pauline (Stump) Kissel, who survive. On June 3, 1978, she

married James T. Frueh, who also survives. She was a 1975 graduate of

Bath High School and was a kitchen manger at Fat Jack's pizza for 12

years. Survivors also include a son, Michael P. (Emily) Frueh of Lima;

three daughters, Melissa J. (Jason) Stuber of Fredericksburg, VA, Jene

Lynn Frueh, both at home; four sisters, Ann (David) Bush and Sue

(BHS'70) (Chuck) Nichols, both of California, Jean (BHS'71 ) Dhayer of

Columbus and Linda (BHS'73) (David) Boyles of Lima.

 

RYAN RICHARD STUBER (BHS'97)

   Ryan Richard Stuber, 25, died April 17, at Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati. He

was born May 6, 1878, in Lima to Richard and Diane (McDaniel) Stuber,

who survive in Lima. He was a 1997 graduate of Bath High School and

Apollo Career Center. He previously worked as a carpenter for Tuttle

Construction. Survivors include a step-son, Drake Browers of Ada and a

sister, Kelly Diane Stuber (BHS'00) of Lima.

 

JOE E. WIES

   Joe E. Wies, 70, died Aug. 14, at his residence in Lima. He was born

Feb. 28, 1934, in McGuffey to Rudy and Garnet (Reed) Wies, who

preceded him in death. On July 25, 1958, he married Marlene K. Mote, who

survives. He retired in 1999 as a custodian with Bath schools. Survivors

also include two daughters, Melody K. (BHS'77) (Jerry) Staley of Covington

and Vicki Jo (BHS'82) Dahill of Lima.

Quiz. The second principal of Bath High School was Robert E. Caton

(1960-1966), who passed away at age 71, March 6, 1988.
