Type of Lesson: Students will be able to
locate information sources, and critically evaluate the vast
amount of information that is available to them on the
Internet and elsewhere. Information resources include the
Internet, CD-ROM encyclopedias, almanacs, atlases,
dictionaries, libraries and databases. Grade Level: 10-12 Lesson Topic: Students will use "The
Information Age" and the World Wide Web to investigate
"Master Photographer's portfolios" to observe, study,
experience and analyze the works of
professionals. Curricular
Objectives: Develop technical
problem-solving abilities and creative talents. Formulate solutions to
problems using creative problem-solving and decision making
techniques. Develop an awareness of the
need and function of machines and technology. Express individual talents,
aptitudes and interests relating to technology. Recognize the usefulness of
technological processes for personal life style
productivity. Transfer knowledge from one

Objectives: Students will select and
apply technology tools for research, information analysis,
problem solving, and decision-making in content
learning. Students use technology
tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and
promote creativity. Students will use technology
tools and resources for managing and communicating
personal/professional information . Students use technology to
locate, evaluate, and collect information from a variety of
sources. Students will evaluate
technology-based options, including distributed education
for lifelong learning. Students will routinely and
efficiently use online information resources to meet needs
for collaboration, research, publications, communications,
and productivity. Lesson Overview: Students need to learn how
to search the web for research information that pertains to
their studies and interests. The Internet serves as a
"window to the world". This window includes master
photographers and enables students to observe a variety of
professional's works at the click of the mouse. Students will share their
photographic findings and in the process study the fine art
of photography. Lesson Introduction: Students will use "The
Information Age" and the World Wide Web to investigate
"Master Photographer's portfolios" to observe, study,
experience and analyze the works of
professionals. The Instructor will
demonstrate an example of each phase of the "photo web
quest" activities. Students will learn how to do a Simple
search type and a Boolean search type with multi-search
engines. The digital requirements
will span the length of the semester creating more
activities and workstations for the students. Students will
also learn digital communication skills by receiving
instructions by email and sending the completed photo quests
with attachments back to the instructor. Students will share
their photographic findings and in the process study the
fine art of photography. A student's performance,
skills, creativity and productivity will be enhanced by
these computer technology instructional
