Video Production
Grades 10-12
Video Production students will study techniques of production. iMovie 3, Final Cut Pro and Avid Xpress will be the video program softwares and the iMac ,eMac and HP will be the computer hardwares. The HP can run Avid Xpress and the Mac platform can run all three editing programs.
The art of story telling, development of treatments, scripts, pacing and design will be a major focus. Students will gain knowledge and skills necessary to write, produce, direct and edit their own short narrative digital productions.
This class will also concentrate on critical viewing skills, production team responsibilities, proper equipment operation and career exploration. Students will learn and practice program developments, preproduction planning, production techniques, post production elements and program promotion. Technical skills in camera operation, editing, computer graphics, audio mixing, lighting and basic engineering are also crucial learning experiences in this age of new technology.
Tech students should experience team building concepts and practice real world applications in their learning process. Motivation for learning, productivity, skills, and performance are enhanced when students have the opportunity to use technology tools that have been integrated into the classroom. When students are assigned hands-on, multi sensory tasks and allowed to be in control of their learning the outcomes teem with innovative project creations.
