   Franklin Elementary is located in Delphos, Ohio, a small rural community with a population of around 8,000. The people have occupations in farming, small industry, or commute to other cities for their vocations.

            Franklin houses approximately 452 kindergarten to 5th grade students with a teacher/pupil ratio of about 1:16. The student attendance rate at Franklin is excellent. 

            Franklin has 29 certified teachers on staff and a support staff that Franklin shares with other schools which includes a speech therapist, school psychologist, guidance counselor, and nurse. Non-certified staff includes 2 secretaries, 1 full-time and 2 part-time custodians, a library aide, and 5 part-time cafeteria workers. Franklin is also staffed with 3 Model IV intervention specialists who work with students that have been identified as "at risk" of having special educational needs and a Title I reading specialist who works with students in grades 1-3.

            Franklin offers a regular educational program which includes reading, language arts, spelling, math, science, health, and social studies to all students. Franklin students also take part in physical education classes, music, and art.
