Jefferson senior Megan Barclay will reign as 2006 Canal Days Queen. The daughter of Randy and Sue Barclay was chosen from thirteen contestants Sunday evening at the annual pageant. Barclay was crowned by 2005 Canal Days Queen Stephanie Culp.

•Jefferson senior Julie Brock, daughter of Angie Brock and Tim Brock, was first runner-up.

•Alexandria Brown, daughter of Larry and Beth Brown, a senior at Jefferson High School, was second runner-up.

•Holly Wisher, daughter of Frank and Terrie Wisher, a senior at Jefferson High School was third runner-up.

•Miss Congeniality, chosen by fellow pageant contestants is Megan Barclay .

•The sportswear model award, chosen by the judges, was awarded to Deborah Boratko. The professionalism award, chosen by the judges, was awarded to Ashley Ulm.

The nine girls competed in a sports-wear and evening-wear competition and answered spontaneous questions from judges Kelly Vandemark, Michelle Brenneman and Kathy Saxton. The Canal Days Pageant was successfully ran by Rebecca Stemen. Entertainment was provided by Olivia Miller, Kylie Hohman, and Bridgit Youngblutt.

• Alicia Hines, the daughter of Tim and Carol Andrews and a senior at Jefferson High School;

• Whitney Garza, daughter of Edward Garza and Lisha Garza and a senior at Jefferson High School;

• Courtney Jettinghoff, daughter of Kim and Mark Jettinghoff and a senior at Jefferson High School;

• Deborah Boratko, daughter of Randy and Diane Boratko and a senior at Jefferson High School;

• Alicia Schleeter, daughter of Lennie and Tina Schleeter and a senior at Jefferson High School;

• Ashley Ulm, daughter of Jay and Laura Ulm and a senior at St. John’s High School; and

• Keri Wollenhaupt, daughter of David and Robin Wollenhaupt and a senior at Jefferson Senior High School.

The queen was awarded $500, a picture frame, a miniature hope chest, studded tiara, $25 gift certificate and photo album. The first runner-up received $250; and the second runner-up received $100. All contestants received long-stemmed roses, T-shirts and special awards bracelets.
