The Tidal Flats

Money point is also known as the tidal flats. It is home to many invertebrates such as starfish, sea stars, bristle stars, sea urchins, fireworms, and many more. It is best to visit it at low tide because you can go tide pooling.

This is a Calorie, a type of sea shell.
This is a sensitive plant. When you move your hand by it sucks itself into a tube for protection.
This is similar to the sensitive plant above it just looks a little different.
Kelly's finger! She tried to pick up a fire worm. And it stung her!
We were not sure what this is because no one had ever seen it before.
Here it is again. It was kind of slimy and it moved like a worm.
This is Chicken Liver on a rock. It was really hard and had a dark color to it.
This is a white sea urchin. It was pretty good size.
This is a large bristle star that we found. They were all over the flats.
Here is a small purple sea urchin. Almost all the purple ones seemed small.
This is a picture looking over the tidal flats into the ocean.
Everyone was walking around looking for creatures under the rocks on the tidal flats.
