FOODS POTPOURRI I/RESOURCE MANAGEMENT I (1 unit credit) Course 269.  A collection that includes basic preparation of foods, use of kitchen equipment, buying and storing foods, safety and sanitation, basic nutrition knowledge.  Learning experiences in managing our valuable resources of food, time, and money. Fee: $30.00.   

FOODS POTPOURRI II/RESOURCE MANAGEMENT II(1 unit of credit) Course 470.  A collection of units will be taught that includes meal preparation, microwave cooking, and more complex recipes.  Menu planning and time management is stressed in projects and home projects. Nutrition, as it relates to specific groups i.e. Athletes, Families, Etc., is covered.

Fee: $30.00.

Parenting and Life Designs (1 unit credit) Course 472.  The first part of this course is devoted to helping teenagers understand parenting is a full-time responsibility.  Topics cover the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development from conception through school age.  The family is the basic unit of society.  The functions of the family and parenting skills blend easily in this course.  The Baby “Think It Over” Program is used.  The second part explores the various aspects of everyday living to include:  lifestyles, housing needs, insurance, time management, managing your money, healthy eating, coping with stress, and shopping wisely.  This course is recommended for grades 10 – 12.  Fee $15.00.

LIFE SKILLS (1/2 unit credit) Course 179. This class will help the student meet the challenges of their daily life.  They will learn practical skills for making decisions at home, school, and in the workplace.  Exercises in personal development, relationships, manners, basic nutrition, study skills, time and money management and healthy living will be stressed.  Fee:  $15.00
