Athletic Option (1/4 credit) Course 189. Students can earn credit for Physical Education through their SUMMER extracurricular athletic activities. Credit will be given based on total hours of physical workout. Coaches will be required to report total hours to the Principal for credit. A workout time log may be required from the student. Students can earn a 1/4 credit each year. A maximum of 1 credit may be earned over four years.
Band Option (1/4 credit) course 190. Students who participate in band and complete all band requirements will earn ¼ credit of PE for each year of band.
Health Evaluation (1/2unit credit) Course 257. This course is open to all sophomores and any students who could not schedule it their sophomore year. This course offers the student an opportunity to study the importance of good physical, mental, emotional, and social health. This course includes comprehensive study of body maintenance strategies, nutrition, communicable and non-communicable diseases social and personal problems (including alcohol, tobacco, and drugs), contraception with an abstinence emphasis, and C.P.R. Successful certification in C.P.R. is required for graduation. This is a split-block Academic Class. No fee.
