Social Studies I - Course 134. The ninth grade utilizes the time period of 1789 through 1900 to provide a context for the six strands of the social studies program. Events in American history are studied within the realm of world events. This time period is the immediate predecessor to the modern era and provides excellent opportunities for learners to investigate the backgrounds for today's issues.

 

Social Studies II - Course 234. The tenth grade utilizes the time period of 1900 through the present to provide a context for the six strands of the social studies program. Events in American history are studied within the realm of world events. This year provides learners with the opportunity to extend and clarify perspectives gained in previous years as they examine the issues of the twentieth century and speculate on the prospects on the twenty-first century.

 

Social Studies III - Course 434. Choice is the focus for social studies instruction at this level. How political, social, and economic choices are made; who makes them; and the effects of those choices.

 

World History - Course 431. A general history course of the world. It is a course in anthropology and a study of ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, and China. It includes the Renaissance, the Reformation, and World Wars and how each of them occurred and subsequently, affected today's world. Course requirements include term papers, research and oral reports. The course is especially good for college-bound students and those who do well and enjoy history.
