High School Band

High School Band activities are divided into two parts, marching and concert. The marching band performs at football games, parades, fairs, contests, and festivals. The concert band presents concerts several times each year and participates in contests, both large group and solo or ensemble. High School band is open to any student in grades nine through twelve. (Non-academic) Audition is required.

Mixed Choir

Meets five periods per week. Open to Freshmen ,Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors and chosen by audition of the instructor. It offers participation in school programs and are competitive. (Non-academic) Auditions required. Course 283

Intro to Theater Arts

Miss Bettler

This class encompasses several areas of drama including acting, humor, stagecraft, exposure to and discussion of plays and musicals, character analyses, and written feedback of this topics. Class time will be spent participation in ice breaker acting games, reading and watching plays and/or musicals, discussing the general aspects of these and performing scenes with classmates. Participation in the musical is NOT mandatory for entrance to this class, but for members of the cast, time may be allotted for rehearsal at the teacher's discretion. Outside attendance is required at a decided number of area plays and/or musicals. Grade will be based upon attendance, attitude, participation, and written work. Course 288

Piano/Keyboarding Lab

This course offers hands-on training for beginners in piano playing. Open to all grade levels. This is a split-block class for the whole year. (Non-academic) Course 385

This class offers students the opportunity to practice and perform in a jazz group that performs at various community events and at several school functions. It is offered 4th block and can be taken for a full or half block of time. Course 183

Color Guard

Mrs. Brenda Drerup, & Mrs. Jenny Carpenter

A performance ensemble in conjunction with the instrumental music department for students interested and capable of participating and performing within the program but not by playing an instrument. Students will be selected by audition involving flag handling and marching fundamentals. Performs with all of the marching band activities as well as basketball games and winter color guard contest.
