Ag Science I (1 1/4 credit) Course173
This is the first of a series of courses which when combined with course number 276 will give the student some agricultural background along with one unit of science credit. The student will study from the following areas and topics:

   A. Developing an SAEP (Supervised Agricultural Experience
        Program)

V. Mechanical Sciences
      A. Wood Skills and Technical information
            1. Drawing and basic design techniques
            2. Calculating amounts and types of lumber to purchase
            3. Hand and power tool terminology use and care
            4. Constructing a wood project

In this course the student will study the following areas:

I. Mechanical Sciences
    A. Metals and their properties
    B. Welding machines design and use
    C. Oxyacetylene equipment use and purpose
    D. Using various metal and forming equipment
    E. Small engine design, use and care
    F. Measuring, repairing, and replacing parts to a small
        engine.

II. Animal Science
    A. Animal physiology
    B. Animal nutrition and health
    C. Genetics breeding and reproduction
    D. Management systems
    E. Marketing animal products
