Jefferson's baseball team rebounded from 1-run loss at Leipsic Saturday quite nicely Wednesday night, going oin the road to puound out a 14-4-5 inning rout of another Putnam County League foe, Miller City.
The game was originally scheduled for April 7th.
Senior right-hander Mike Rahrig (3-0) kept up his strong pitching this spring, tossing four innings of 2-hit, shutout ball. He fanned seven and didn't walk a batter.
He got plenty of backing from a 17-hit Jeffcat (7-2) attack. They scored three times in each of the first two frames against Miller City (6-2) starter Rusty Lammers (3 1/3 innings, 11 hits, 10 earned runs, 2 bases-on-balls, 3 strikeouts).
They chased Lammers with seven runs in the fourth.
A pair of seniors: Ryan Kortokrax (4 runs batted in, 2 doubles, 1 run) and leadoff man Cory Bastian (3 runs, RBI, stolen base) both went 4-for-4.
Senior Josh Miller (4 runs, 3 RBI's, 1 BB, 1 hit by a pitch, triple) went 2-for-2 and classmate Matt Gerdeman (1 run, 2 RBI's) went 2-for-4.
Jefferson entertains Northwest conference foe Allen East for a 5 p.m. start today.
