Inspiration:
Diane was inspired to become a school Treas./CFO by her mother, Janice Graessle, and "Stretch" Goedde, who both served as Treas. at Spencerville Schools.
Career:
Treas./CFO since 1994, Assistant Treas. in 1993, and Supt./Treas. from 1989-1992
Education:
1977 graduate of Spencerville High School, and graduated from The University of Northwestern Ohio with a degree in accounting in 1993
Family:
Husband Rusty, 2 adult children, and 1 grandson.
Hobbies:
Free time is spent with family and friends. Diane collects cook books and enjoys cooking.
Alternative Career:
A bakery owner/operator or a photographer.

Mary Fell, School Nurse

Inspiration:
Mary was inspired by a friend to become a nurse.
Career:
She has worked as the Spencerville School's nurse for six years.  She has been nursing for a total of 24 yrs., working in various hospitals in critical care and patient education.  She has also taught nursing at a local college for six years, and still works in a local hospital during the summer and on breaks.
Education:
Mary graduated from Anna High School; she has a nursing diploma from Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing; she has a bachelor's of science degree in nursing from Bluffton College, and a master of science, and School Nursing License Training from Wright State University.
Family:
Husband-Lynn, children-Andrew & Rachel
Hobbies:
Enjoys gardening, OSU football games, and scrapbooking
Alternative Career:
Working in national parks giving tours

Sara Newland, Cafeteria Supervisor

Inspiration:
Sara had an aunt who worked in food service and said the schedule would work well for her family.
Career:
9yrs. in Shawnee's Food Service Dept., and  Spencerville's Food Service Supervisor since 2006.
Education:
Sara graduated from Shawnee High School.
Family:
Sara has a husband named John, three sons named Kyle, Keenan, and Kurtis, and a chocolate lab named Kacey.
Hobbies:
Sara likes to watch her boys play sports, go boating, and be involved at her church.
Alternative Career: 
In the counseling field.

Brian Woods, Athletic Director

Inspiration:
Brian went into college wanting to be an Athletic Trainer, and was persuaded to get a teaching degree as a backup plan.
Career:
13yrs. (11 years at Spencerville, 1 year at Carey, and 1 year at Vanlue).
Education:
Graduated from Carey High School in 1990, from Bluffton College in 1994 with a B.A. in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, and from BGSU in 2001 with a M.S. in School Administration and Supervision.
Family:
Brian has a wife Julie, a 10 yr. old daughter Leah, a 6 yr. old daughter Sarah, a 2 yr. old son Michael, 2 dogs, and 2 cats.
Hobbies:
Enjoys watching, playing, and attending sporting events.
Alternative Career:
A lawyer.

Inspiration:
Teresa loved school as a young student and had numerous teachers who inspired her to become an educator.
Career:
At Spencerville for 22 years - Special Education for 6 years and School Psychologist for 16 years.
Education:
Graduated from Spencerville High School in 1974, from Bowling Green State University in 1978 with a B.S. in Special Education, and from Wright State University in 1989 with a M.Ed. in School Psychology.
Family:
Teresa has a husband Ted, retired from a very successful 35 year career in education, and two sons - Luke and Nathan. She also has a dog and two cats.
Hobbies:
Enjoys reading, working puzzles, singing in her church choir and most especially spending time with her family.
Alternative Career:
Something in the field of music.

Inspiration:
Sherri was most inspired to become an educator by her 11th grade English teacher, who encouraged a love of words and literature in all her students. Sherri liked working with "words" and also liked working with students in small groups. Speech therapy allowed her to combine both of her "likes".
Career:
Sherri has been working at Spencerville for 14 years, and worked 2 1/2 years at St. Rita's Medical Center before that as a speech therapist.
Education:
Sherri's Bachelor's degree is from the University of Toledo and her Master of Science degree is from Bowling Green State University in Speech Science or Speech/Language Pathology.
Family:
Sherri has a husband named Jim, two step-daughters named Jennifer and Denise, a granddaughter named Alexis, and an 8 year old lab named Libby.

 

Joel Hatfield

Inspiration:
Several people in Joel's life influenced him to become an educator.  He was pretty close to his grandfather who was an educator for 47 years.
Career:
Joel has been employed by Spencerville schools since 1978.  He was a middle school Social studies teacher for 13 years, became H.S. principal, and then was hired as the Superintendent 9 years ago.
Education:
Joel attended Waynesfield-Goshen for 11 years and graduated from Kenton Sr. High. He aquired his Bachelors of Science degree at Ohio State University, his Masters of Science degree at University of Dayton, and post graduate at University of Dayton and Walsh.
Family:
Joel is married and has three children and two cats.
Hobbies:
In his free time, Joel likes to do yard work and some woodworking.
Alternative Career:
If Joel wasn't an administrator, he would like to be a teacher again.

Linda Yahl

Inspiration:
Linda was inspired by her grandmother, Mildred Keller, and her mother Dorothy Heidlebaugh, who were both teachers, and her high school guidance counselor, Mrs. Mildred Sarka.  When she was very little, she would teach her dolls daily.
Career:
24 years (22 years at Spencerville, 1 year at St. Marys, and 1 year at New Knoxville)
Education:
Linda graduated from Spencerville high school, received her bachelor's Degree in Education and her Master's Degree in Supervision and Curriculum from Wright State University, and received her LD certification from University of Dayton.
Family:
Linda has a husband named Edward, and three grown children named Heidi, Ryan, and Jeff.  She also has three grandchildren.
Hobbies:
Linda likes to do counted cross stitching, sudoku puzzles, and read.
Alternative career:
Linda would have a coffee specialty shop with books to sell along with desserts.
