1. Who or what inspired you to enter the field of education?
I had some excellent teachers growing up and all of them had a tremendous influence on me; especially Mrs.D in fourth grade. She still teaches at Lima St. Charles and both of our children were fortunate to have her. I also remember always "playing school" as a child with neighborhood friends when I was little.

2. How long have you been teaching at Spencerville? If you taught elsewhere, where was it and how long?
This is my 25th year at Spencerville. I taught 13 years at the middle school and this is my 12th year at the Reading Center. This is the only school system I have taught at.

3. Where did you graduate from-both High School and College and what is your degree(s)?
I graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School and received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. I also received my Masters Degree from the Teacher Leader Program from Wright State University.

4. Who are your family members and pets if you have any?

My husband Mike and I have two children. Jenna is 19 and attends Xavier University studying Communications. Jon is 15 and a freshman at Lima Central Catholic and is very involved in sports. We don't have any pets because we are very seldom home to take care of them.

5. What do you like to do in your free time? Do you have any special hobbies, talents, etc.?
My free time is spent enjoying time with our family; we're very close. I also enjoy scrapbooking, yardwork and decorating our home. Whenever it's possible, I love traveling, especially to Florida. Probably my most favorite thing to do now is watching our son compete in various sporting events.

6. If you weren't a teacher, what else would you like to be?
I'm a big Court TV fan and I think Forensic Science would be pretty interesting although they make it look a lot easier to solve crimes on TV. I don't think it would be near as rewarding as helping a child learn to read.
