The Hancock County Health Department would like to make certain that all parents are aware of the vaccines that are now recommended for children starting at age 11.

• Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis booster)
• Meningococcal
• HPV (females only)
• Hepatitis A
• Varicella (dose 2)

Any age student who has not had 2 doses of varicella vaccine should also be vaccinated. It was determined in 2006 that one dose of chickenpox vaccine may not be enough to prevent disease. Influenza vaccine is also recommended for all children every year. Remember to have new member of your family vaccinated by 2 months of age. For any questions please call us at 419-424-7869.
