LIBERTY-BENTON LOCAL SCHOOLS

DENNIS L. RECKER, SUPERINTENDENT

PUBLIC NOTICE

On two separate dates, February 26, 2008 and February 29, 2008, Liberty-Benton was notified of meat commodities that were to be destroyed, if found to be in our possession.  This meat product recall was based on an incident at a California meat packing house.

Upon our head kitchen cooks, Karen Powell and Marlene Kennedy, reviewing all of our existing inventory for any of this product and under the supervision of Mrs. Judy Shivers, we discovered a total of 37 cases of product shipped as a commodity to us from the packing house in question.

These products we identified, removed from our existing food stock, and destroyed by burying them on March 7 under the direction of Mrs. Shivers and Mr. Frommer, our maintenance director.

We thank them for their timely inspections, removal, and destruction of these identified products.
