| CHANGING WINDOWS BACKGROUND |
To
personalize your machine. SHOULD
NOT BE DONE BY STUDENTS!
If
you have downloaded wallpaper from the Internet, it will NOT be a part of your
roaming profile. In other words, it
will ONLY be on the machine to which it was downloaded.
Step
1: Click on Start.
Step 2: Click on Settings.
Step 3: Click on Control Panel.
Step 4: Double click on Display.
Step 5: Click on the tab labeled
Background.
Step 6: You have two choices at
this point - Pattern or Wallpaper.
Wallpaper:
Step
7: Using your scroll bar or arrow
keys find the wallpaper that you are interested in
seeing. Click on the name of the wallpaper and it will display on the
monitor in the dialog box.
If you don’t like that wallpaper, choose another one until you
find the one that you want to use.
Step 8: Once you have chosen your
wallpaper, click on Apply. Also in
the wallpaper box, you have the choice of
making your wallpaper tiled or centered. Tiled
means that it will cover the whole screen and centered means that you get
one piece of the wallpaper in the center
of your screen. Click in the circle
that you want your wallpaper to look
like.
Note:
Some of the wallpapers will not center.
Step
9: Click on Apply. Your background should now be changed to what you picked.
Step 10: Click on OK.
Step 11: Click on the X in
the upper right hand corner of the Control Panel dialog box to
get back to Windows.
Patterns:
Step
7: Change the wallpaper to (None).
Step 8: Using your scroll bar or
arrow keys find the pattern that you are interested in seeing. Click on
the name of the pattern and it will display on the monitor in the
dialog box. If you don’t
like that pattern, choose another one until you find the
one that you want to use.
Step 9: Once you have chosen your
pattern, click on Apply.
Step 10: Click on OK.
Step 11: Click on the X in
the upper right hand corner of the Control Panel dialog box to
get back to Windows.
