| TO CHANGE PRINTER CARTRIDGES CORRECTLY |
Step
1: Make sure your printer and
computer are on and Windows is active.
Step 2: Open the top of your
printer and the cartridge(s) will automatically come to the center. (It takes
a few seconds.)
Step 3: Remove the cartridge that
needs replaced by gently pulling toward you until it
clicks out of the carrier.
Step 4: Gently pull the cartridge
out of the carrier by lifting straight up.
Step 5: Remove all of the coverings
from the new cartridge and insert it in the proper
place by placing it into the slot at an angle.
After it is in the proper place, push it away
from you until it clicks into place.
Step 6: Close the printer lid.
NOTE:
These next few steps are for any machine that has dual cartridges in it.
Step
7: On your computer, Click on
Start.
Step 8: Go to Programs.
Step 9: Go to HP DeskJet Utilities.
Step 10: Go to HP DeskJet 6--C
Toolbox.
Step 11: Click on the tab that says
Printer Services.
Step 12: Click on the button beside
Align the printer cartridges.
Step 13: Click on the button that
says Align.
Step 14: Wait for the printout.
Step 15: By looking at your
printout, choose which lines look the straightest to you on
both sections (horizontal and vertical).
Click on the corresponding number and letter
that you choose from the printout.
Step 16: Click on Continue.
Step 17: Wait for the printout.
Step 18: Make sure your printout
looks like the sample shown on the screen.
Step 19: Click on Done.
Step 20: Just to make sure that
everything is working correctly, click on the button
beside Print a self-test page.
Step 21: Click on Print.
Step 22: Wait for printout.
Step 23: The printout should have
color and the lines should all be straight.
If not, contact the Technology
Coordinator.
Step 24: Click on the X in the
upper right hand corner of the toolbox dialog box to close the box.
