BASIC COMPUTER/NETWORK TROUBLESHOOTING

If your computer won’t turn on or find the network, check the following things:

1.     Make sure your strip protector is plugged in and turned on.

2.     Check the back of the machine to make sure that all of the cords that are plugged into it are pushed all of the way in.

3.     Check to make sure that there are no 3 ½” disks in the disk drive.

4.     Make sure your monitor is plugged into your computer.

Follow the network wire (usually green, gray, yellow or blue) to the drop on the wall or the hub, is it plugged in?  If not, contact the Technology Coordinator or an assistant to the Technology Coordinator.
