                                                           A note from Mr. Wolford from the February Newsletter - -      

Dear Parents,
The school year seems to be flying by. At least, that is my impression. We are already past the middle of the third nine weeks. Winter sports have concluded and spring sports are organizing. The 8^th grade D.C. trip is just a month away as is spring break and the 8^th graders will soon be registering for their freshman classes. Although it is an exciting time of the year, it can get a bit crazy. It is a time to make certain we still do not forget our focus of what school is all about and that is learning.

Recently I sent out reminder letters regarding attendance. These letters were just a reminder of where your child is with attendance. I want to let you know that we realize appointments are necessary and that not all appointments can be scheduled after school; however, we just ask that you do call us and make certain we have notes for each time of absence. Again, our records are audited from time to time and all phone calls must be documented and notes accounted for. I would also remind you that it is always good to have notes from physicians, dentists, etc. when possible. As I stated in the letter, good attendance is a key to success, but there are times when it is necessary to be absent. We just ask that you keep us informed.

As we wind this school year down, continue to encourage your children to put forth their best efforts right to the last day. So much more is expected of both children and teachers in today’s educational environment. We just ask that you continue to jointly support your children and the efforts of our staff as well.
