P.A.W.S. (Panthers At War With
Substance Abuse)
2007-08
Hancock Addiction Prevention Program
for Youth. The goal of this group is
to obtain basic knowledge, skills and program models for the prevention of drug
and/or alcohol abuse. The members are selected by a written essay the
student has written telling about the importance of being drug free.
The members will then go to a week-end called "HAPPY
Week-End" where they will learn different techniques on how to say
"NO" and how to teach others what to do if in a situation where drugs
or alcohol are involved. The P.A.W.S. group will present skits, cheers, and
a dance to the Middle School student body on their HAPPY Week-End on the
things that they learned.
