Merck Manual Home Edition  
This site has a friendly user's guide which outlines medical terms and chapter organization, and a lengthy table of contents: everything you'd find in the print version of a good family medical guide. The newest version has videos, animations, and an audio guide to pronunciations.

Chosen by Yahoo! as "best health care portal." Information on medical conditions, diseases and drugs is "heavy on detail, light on jargon."

Nutrition

CyberDiet  
Features many interactive assessment tools--everything a person would need to plan a healthy diet.  The "Daily Food Planner" helps construct a personal menu plan, complete with recipes and a shopping list.  The "Resource Center" posts practical information and advice for people on special diets or allergies, diabetes, and other medical conditions.
The Diet Channel  
Includes "over 600 links to reliable diet information."  Sections of interest to students may include sports nutrition, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, supplements, diet and heart disease, and 'functional' foods.  Links to many diet and activity analysis tools.
Food and Nutrition Information Center
