New Hall of Fame Class to be Honored

     Liz (Meiring) Buschur (1982)- Liz Meiring was a four-year letter winner in basketball, earning first team All-Midwest Athletic Conference status her last three years with the Indians.Meiring ranks fourth on the all-time scoring list with 1,251 points and is second in career rebounds with 873. After graduating, Meiring was a four-year starter at the University of Toledo, earning All-Mid-American conference honors her senior year and holding the team record for most rebounds in a game with 22. Meiring finished her career at Toloedo as the ninth-leading scorer with 1,435 points and is fifth in revounds with 869.


     Diane McClung- Diane was a five-time MAC Coach of the Year, McClung guided the Fort Recovery girls basketball team for 13 seasons, going 221-78 (.739 winning percentage) with eight sectional titles and five district crowns. McClung coached the Indians to back-to-back Division IV state titles in 1990 and 1991 with the 1990 title team going 27-0. McClung was named the AP and UPI Coach of the Year in 1982 and 1990.


     Kevin Dilworth (1973)- Dilworth earned 12 varsity letters in cross country, basketball, and track. Dilworth started at guard on the Indians' 1971 basketball title team, leading the team in assists and free throws. Dilworth ended his basketball career second in career scoring with 1,363 points and was the Mercer County League Player of the Year in 1972-73 and first team UPI All-Ohio. Dilworth batted .428 his senior yearto thead the Indians on the baseball field and earned all-league honors. Dilworth later played basketball at Defiance College.


     Harold "Boots" Faller (1942)- Faller was a three-sport letter-winner from 1938-42 in track, basketball, and baseball. On the diamond, Faller was a star pitcher, going 37-3 during his career at Fort Recovery while throwing two no-hitters, helping the Indians to a MCL and district title. Faller serves as assistant commissioner for ACME Baseball Congress and was honored by having the Junior ACME State Tournament named in his honor this past season.


     Bob Fiely (1952)- Fiely was a member of four MCL baseball championships during his career at Fort Recovery. His career also shined on the basketball court, earning first-team all-state honors in 1951. Fiely finished with 1,151 career points- fifth best in school history- and later went to play at the University of Dayton, playing on two Flyer teams that finished runners-up in the National Invitation Tournament. Fiely returned to Fort Recovery and posted a 59-43 record as boys basketball coach, with the best year being the 1958-59 season as the Indians went 19-4.


     Jerry Obringer (1950)- Obringer dominated as a pitcher in his four years with the Indians, going 19-1 with an ERA of 1.14 and 236 strikeouts. Obringer pitched four no-hitters, including back-to-back gems in 1950 against New Breamen and St. Henry. Obringer played two years in the Philadelphia Philles' organization before returning to the area, finishing his active playing career with the Fort Recovery American Legion at the age of 51.
