Welcome to FRLS's

Olweus Bullying Program

Bullying A to Z - a presentation by Vicki Morgan on bullying and the Olweus program at Fort Recovery Local Schools.

Why Anti-Bullying?

There are several critical reasons for examining and attempting to counteract bully/victim problems in school:
  1. Bullying may cause short-term problems for the victims (depression, anxiety, problems with school work)

  2. Persistent bullying can leave long-term scars on the victims (low self-esteem, depression)

  3. Students who bully are especially likely to engage in other antisocial/delinquent behaviors such as vandalism, truancy and drug use

  4. Bullying may contribute to a negative school social climate that is not conducive to good social relationships or learning.
FRLS Anti-Bullying Rules
  1. We will not bully others

  2. We will try to help students who are bullied

  3. We will make it a point to include students who are easily left out

  4. If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and at home.
