The Fort Recovery State Museum was built in 1938. It was first the town’s public library and later became the museum. It has the largest artifact collection on display in the whole state of Ohio. The artifacts were found in the Fort Recovery, Ohio area. The museum also has the only mounted dragoon in the whole United States. A mounted dragoon is a man with a horse. We picked it as a treasure because it shows what our town stands for and it is a good information source on Fort Recovery’s history.
