I would like to wish all of our students and teachers good luck next week as everyone has worked very hard in preparation for the Ohio Achievement Test. As always we would like to encourage our students to get plenty of sleep next week, plus eat a good breakfast.
We would like to wish Mrs. Carolyn Anderson a very successful retirement, as she will be retiring this May with over 40 years of teaching experience and with 34 years of those years at Fort Recovery. Mrs. Anderson says that she will definitely miss all of her students and her fellow staff members greatly. She is quoted, as saying that one of her joys is “being able to watch her former students become successful and responsible young adults”. Our staff will truly miss Mrs. Anderson as she is well known as a great cook whom loves to make desserts and specialty cakes and cookies.
On behalf of the middle school
I would like to thank Mrs. Jutte and Mr. Patch, and the entire 8th
grade students for an excellent trip to Washington DC. Students that I spoke to said that they had
a great time and returned home with tremendous memories and lots of great
photos. A special thanks also goes out to the parents who chaperoned the
trip. A successful trip to DC could not
be made without the help of willing parents.
Reading, like no other leisure activity, sustains the powers
of the imagination, allowing us to explore worlds we might not otherwise visit
and to hear voices we might not otherwise hear. Reading skills, like everything
else, cannot be improved without practice.
With this philosophy in mind, FRMS will offer the summer reading program
for 2008. Due to summer vacations by
staff members and building secretaries the following will be the times and
places students can take summer reading counts quizzes:
