Board Recognition

Adam Pohl was congratulated on his essay being published by Creative Communications.  The following FCCLA students were recognized for their achievements at the State FCCLA STAR Event: Nicole Pottkotter, Chelsey Leuthold, Sarah Knapke, Beth Link, Sassy Thompson, Mallory Wood, Alyssa Brackman, Emily May, Sherri Schoenlein, Shelby Westgerdes, Lizzie Gagle, Lacey Bechtol, Kayla Pottkotter, Lauren Staugler, and Lorraine Shier.  The valedictorians and salutatorian for the class of 2007 were congratulated: Gina Bauer, Aaron Kahlig, Abby Niekamp, Katie Roessner, Vicki Roessner, and Holly Stein.

Communications

Received a letter from the O.H.S.B.C.A congratulating our girls basketball team on being named an Academic All-Ohio Team Award Winner.

Board Report

Steve Wendel, Student Liaison, noted the successes of FR students at the recent MS Awards Banquet and students recognized at this board meeting.

Administrative Reports

Mrs. Koch:

* Discussed the Five-Year Forecast with the Board.

Mrs. Vaughn:

* Updated the Board on the achievement tests given at the elementary school.

* Explained the activities of the elementary field day that is new this year.

* Noted there may be 85 kindergarten students next year.

Mr. Shuttleworth:

* Distributed and reviewed the Middle School Schedule for the 2007-08 school year.

* Shared details about the Gateway Summer Engineering Camp to be held at the high school.

* Reviewed recent events: Fit at the Fort and the MS Awards Banquet.

Mr. Warvel:

* Shared graduation plans with the Board. Graduation  practice will be held on May 18th. 

* Discussed the Kings Island incentive trip and the high school schedule for the 2007-08 school year.

Mr. Riel:

*Thanked the Business Advisory Council & the many businesses in town for the staff appreciation breakfast and  gift of a portable document scanning camera to the district.  *Reminded the Board of upcoming employee banquet to be held on May 25 in the Elem/MS auditeria. 

* Updated the Board on the meeting of the Supplemental Review Committee.

Mr. Riel Continued:

* Reviewed the minutes of the recent Community Engagement Meeting.

* Updated the Board on the Constitutional Amendment for school funding.

Consent Agenda

1. Approved minutes of prior April Board meeting.

2.  Approved the monthly financial reports for April.

3. & 4. Approved agreements for deposit of public funds with Fifth Third Bank and Second National Bank.    

5. Approved list of graduation candidates.

6. Approved membership in the OHSAA for the high school and middle school.

7. Established summer office hours.

8. Thanked Psi Iota Xi Sorority for their $200 donation to the Elem/MS & HS Art Departments.

9. Accepted the resignation for retirement of Nancy Reinhard effective June 30, 2007.

10. Accepted the resignation of Aaron Vaughn effective at the end of the 2006-07 school year.
