VISION – Fort Recovery Local Schools: An exemplary school district adding value for all students.

 

 

MISSION -The mission of the Fort Recovery Local School District is to create a culture of collective responsibility to add value for all students through academic rigor and best instructional practices in a safe, caring, learning environment.

 

 

Goal I – All students will learn through curriculum and instruction that is rich in academic rigor.

 

Ia – Performance Indicator – There will be an annual increase in individual student achievement results in all core content areas.

 

Strategies:

1.       Provide students with instruction that is grounded in detailed item analysis of past standardized assessment results.

2.      Utilize, on a regular basis in all grade levels and all subject areas, extended response and short answer questions that model test taking question format and vocabulary.

3.      Provide at-risk and gifted students with intervention/enrichment.

 

Ib – Performance Indicator – All students will demonstrate at least one year’s growth each year in the core content areas.

 

Strategies:

1.      Provide all students with differentiated instruction.

2.      Align assessments with State testing expectations.

 

Ic – Performance Indicator – All students will complete the Ohio CORE Curriculum by the time they graduate.

 

Strategies:

1.      Realign math curriculum.

2.      Explore offering foreign language instruction prior to 9th grade.

3.      Increase awareness of Ohio CORE to students, parents and staff.

 

Id – Performance Indicator – All students will demonstrate preparedness for the world of work or continued post-graduate education.

 

Strategies:

1.      Infuse technology into teaching and learning.

2.      Increase community service projects and service learning.

3.      Provide increased opportunities for students to work on teams, teach others, serve, lead, negotiate, and work in diverse settings.

4.      Make curriculum connected using real-life and meaningful instruction.

5.      Increase students’ exposure to the variety of career opportunities.


 

 

Goal II – All students will learn in a safe, supportive, caring environment.

 

IIa – Performance Indicator – All students treat each other with respect.

 

Strategies:

1.      Increase student involvement in identification of problems and generation of solutions.

2.      Expand use of focus groups.

3.      Implement research-based bullying program.

 

IIb – Performance Indicator – Fort Recovery teachers care about students.

 

Strategies:

1.      Provide an advisor/advisee program for students.

2.      Implement techniques and strategies that will improve student-to-student and staff-to-student relationships.

 

IIc – Performance Indicator – A positive climate exists in the Fort Recovery Local School District.

 

Strategies:

1.      Support all district staff in providing guidance/student support services.

2.      Expand use of focus groups.

3.      Implement techniques and strategies which will improve student-to-student and staff-to-student relationships.

 

IId – Performance Indicator – There will be an increase in student involvement in school-related activities (clubs, organizations, extra-curricular, etc.).

 

Strategies:

1.      Increase participation in student activities through support and encouragement.

2.      Develop, with the help of community members, new clubs/activities.

 

 


 

 

Goal III – All stakeholders (students, staff, parents, and community) will be highly involved and feel a sense of accountability that value is added for all students.

 

IIIa – Performance Indicator – All stakeholders (students, staff, parents and community members) will collaborate to bring expertise and/or support into each classroom.

 

Strategies:

1.      Seek to build more/better relationships with the BAC and community businesses.

2.      Increase collaboration with parents.

 

 

IIIb – Performance Indicator – Students will demonstrate increased responsibility for their                                    success in school.

 

                  Strategies:

1.      Implement a program that results in the development of senior projects.

2.      Implement student-led conferences.

3.      Assist every student with developing personal learning goals.

4.      Have students track their own learning using short cycle assessment results.

 

 

IIIc – Performance Indicator – The Fort Recovery PK-12 staff works well together.

 

                  Strategies:

1.      Utilize collaboration to implement an integrated PK-12 curriculum.

2.      Provide PK-12 team-working opportunities for staff.
