As part of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program,
Fort Recovery Local Schools adopted an anti-bullying code of conduct that directly coincides with the
FR. discipline code of conduct. The Fort Recovery Local Schools is maintaining a climate that will not accept any form of bullying.
Four anti-bullying rules will be posted throughout the entire building and in every classroom: 1.We will not bully others 2. We will try to help students who are bullied 3. We will make it a point to include students who are easily left out 4. If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and at home.
Discipline associated with the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program will be administered in the form of a strike consequence. If a student is observed or it is reported that a student is in violation of anti-bullying rules he/she will receive a verbal warning from a teacher. After receiving three verbal warnings, a detention will be assigned. Parent/guardian contact will be made. Level One bullying behaviors: pushing/shoving/kicking, teasing/ mocking/ taunting, rumors/ gossiping and dirty looks.
If a student continues to engage in Level One Offenses, he/she will move to Level Two consequence. Level Two consequences will be determined by a building administrator. Level Two bullying behaviors: defacing property or clothing, spitting, social rejection and physical acts that are demeaning.
Continued violation of anti-bullying rules, will also result in Level Three consequences. Level Three consequences will be determined by a building administrator. Level Three bullying behaviors: locking in a closed or confined space, threats of physical harm, fighting or assault, sexual harassment, theft, and or repeated verbal/physical harm.
