General
Statements
Many
students benefit from working with a counselor to help resolve issues with other
students, friends, teachers, siblings, etc. This service is provided by the school district during school
hours at no cost to parents. Because
it is sometimes uncomfortable for parents or students to utilize these services
at school, the counselor is willing to help make referrals to other agencies and
individuals who provide this service at minimal cost to families.
Individual
and small group counseling is provided to students at student, parent, teacher
or other staff member request. All
information is confidential and is not released except by permission of the
student or parent. A variety of
concerns may be addressed, depending on need.
Students are always encouraged to talk with parents, and the counselor is
always willing to aid in that discussion if requested to do so.
Information that involves the welfare of students may be released as
directed by law to appropriate agencies.
Parents
are always a key part of any successful counseling. I welcome the opportunity to discuss concerns.
Please
do not hesitate to contact the school if you would like your child to talk to
the counselor.
