| In Social Studies we
are studying aspects of
economy. So we did some "buying and selling". Each student had 3 items with which to bargain.

Growing Green Beans Without Soil

| We placed seeds in ziplock bags with only wet paper towels. Now we are graphing the length of their stems. But we know they will soon die without the nutrients from soil. Why do some "come up" better than others?! |  |

Our Tomato Sphere Project
Miss Sinn registered us online at tomatosphere.com. Then we were sent 2 packets of tomato seeds. One is the control seeds which were kept under earthlike conditions. The other packets has seeds which were placed under space-like conditions. We are graphing their dates of germination. After several more weeks we will send them the results. Then they will tell us which packet was under which condition.
This experiment is helping determine if astronauts will be able to grow fresh tomatoes in space.

We had lots of fun for reaching our AR goal.
There were 6 games/stations to visit. Then we finished up with
"musical mats"! Everyone left with candy and a strong desire to
come back the next time!!! :)
