The Wayne Trace Wrestling Team was crowned GMC Champions Saturday afternoon at Edgerton High School.  The Raiders escaped by winning the title by one point over Ayresville.

Finished 1st:  Dustin Taylor, Jacob Dingus, Aaron Miller, and Tyler Showalter
Finished 2nd:  Zaine Cotterman, Zac Wesley, Jacob Schlegle
Finished 3rd:  Matt Baxter, Cassidy Hilkey, Grant Gillett, Justin Pierce, Isaac Ludwig

 

The Wayne Trace Junior High Wrestling team improves to an 8-0 overall record with victories over Paulding 52-24 and Spencerville 42-33. 

Winners against Paulding: 
Dustin Taylor, Cassidy Hilkey, Jacob Dingus, Grant Gillett, Tyler Showalter- All won by Forfeits
Zaine Cotterman, Zack Wesley, Justin Pierce- won by pins
Aaron Miller- won by a major decision 14-1

Winners against Spencerville:
Dustin Taylor, Cassidy Hilkey, Jacob Dingus,Aaron Miller, Zack Wesley, Tyler Showalter, Justin Pierce- All won by pins

 

Wayne Trace Junior High Wrestling Team traveled to Fairview to wrestle Fairview and Stryker.  Wayne Trace wrestled Fairview and won 28-0 and then they wrestled Stryker and won 6-0. Stryker had 1 wrestler.

     Aaron Miller won by pin
     Zaine Cotterman by pin
     Jacob Dingus by pin

     Isaac Ludwig by dec

     Tyler Showalter beat the Stryder opponent by pin

Next match Thursday against Hicksville and Ayresville @ Ayresville

 

The Wayne Trace Junior High Wrestling team competed at the Allen East wrestling tournament this past Saturday.  The wrestlers finished 5th of 14 teams.  Six out of nine wrestlers placed as follows:  Zain Cotterman 3rd, Matt Baxter 4th, Jacob Dingus 3rd, Zac Wesley 5th, Josh Reel 4th, Aaron Miller 1st.  Aaron won the tournament last year as well.  Justin Pierce finished with a 2-2 record falling short of placing.
