Meet Highlights

GMC Meet

The Wayne Trace boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both finished in 6th place on Saturday in the Green Meadows Conference championship. Levi Kurtz was the third boy overall and received 1st team all GMC honors with a personal best time of 17:01. Karl Klopfenstein earned honorable mention. Amanda Hill was the first girl finishing in 23rd place and Cassie McDougle was the second Raider girl. Eli Cook and Michala Elliot were the first junior high runners for Wayne Trace, finishing 17th and 15th in their respective races.

 

Edgerton Invitational

The boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both finished 10th of 16 schools at the Edgerton Invitational on Saturday.  Levi Kurtz took home a ninth place medal and Karl Klopfenstein finished 20th overall. Cassie McDougle and Jenna Gordon were the first two Raider girls to finish.   Michala Elliot and Eli Cook were the top Wayne Trace junior high runners in the girls’ and boys’ races respectively.  Nearly every Raider runner finished the day with personal best times.

 

In Cross Country Action last night, the Raider boys and girls both placed 4th of five teams.  Levi Kurtz was 4th overall and Karl Klopfenstein was 10th to lead the guys.  Jenna Gordon was the first lady Raider in the high school race with Leah Ross close behind her.  The first junior high girl was Michala Elliot and Eli Cook and Joe Mcvay were the first two jr. high boys finishing 4th and 5th overall respectively.

 

Van Wert Invitational

The varsity boys and girls cross country teams finished 10th and 13th of 16 schools competing in the big school’s division at the Van Wert Invitational on Saturday. Levi Kurtz and Karl Klopfenstein both received individual awards for finishing 12th and 31st respectively. Cassie McDougle was the first Raider girl to cross the finish line. Eli Cook and Michala Elliot were the top Wayne Trace finishers in the junior high races.

 

At Columbus Grove

Levi Kurtz finished 8th overall and Karl Klopfenstein was 20th, leading the boys’ cross country team to an 8th place finish in the big school division at the Ottawa-Glandorf Invitational on Saturday. Amanda Hill was the first Raider girl finisher, leading the Lady Raiders to a 10th place team finish. Michala Elliot and Joe McVay were the top finishers for Wayne Trace in the junior high races. Every high school and junior high school runner had personal best times in their races.

St. John's Invitational

The high school boys' cross country team finished 5th of ten teams at the St. John's Invitational.  The high school girls' team came in 8th.  Levi Kurtz finished in 6th place overall and Karl Klopfenstein was 11th to lead the boys.  Amanda Hill was the top runner on the girls' team finishing in 40th place.  Eli Cook and Machala Elliot were the top runners in the junior high boys' and girls' races respectively.  Complete results for the invitational can be found at www.baumspage.com.
