On Friday, April 27, 2007, the Wayne Trace concert choir performed at the State Adjudicated Event in Maumee, Ohio. The state’s best performing ensembles all gathered to be rated for their hard work. Our concert choir made school history for the first time by receiving straight 1s. This is the highest honor a performing ensemble can achieve. Thirty-six choirs performed this week-end with only 6 receiving this honor. Our school is now recognized as one of the best choirs in Ohio. Congratulations to all for their hard work throughout the year!

The Concert Band and Concert Choir traveled to Van Wert to participate in the Ohio Music Education Association Large Group Adjudication Event.  The ensembles received a “Floor Rating” by three judges and then move to a “Sight Reading” portion where they must perform a piece without ever seeing it before.

The Concert Band dramatically improved from last year’s event by receiving straight “II’s” on the floor giving them an overall rating of a “II”.  They are now rated an “EXCELLENT” band rather than last year’s “FAIR” band.

For the first time in 13 years, the HS Concert Choir made “SCHOOL HISTORY” by qualifying for the State Adjudication Event.  16 choirs performed this weekend with only 5 choirs receiving the coveted “SUPERIOR” rating of a “I”.  The Choir will now travel to participate in the State Adjudicated Event later in April.

Please congratulate these members to show your appreciation for their dedication and hard work they have put in over the last 8 years.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
