Track Highlights

The girls track team finished in 3rd place and the boys were 6th at the Wayne Trace Relays last night.  Finishing first in their events for the girls was the 800 sprint medley relay team of Kacee Hockenberry, Becky Hicks, Sara Priest and Jenna Stoller, and the 800 and 400 meter relay teams of Kacee Hockenberry, Taylor Baumle, Becky Hicks, and Sara Priest, and the weight-girls’ relay team of Miranda Dobbelaere, Lauren Holtsberry, Nikkie Lay, and Kelly Janka.  The High school tracks teams are back in action Friday for the GMC meet at Ayersville.

 

 

The boys’ and girls’ high school track teams both finished third in a triangular meet at Crestview yesterday. Taking first place in their events for the girls were Sara Priest, who won both the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes, and Jenna Stoller, who won the 800 and 1600 meter races. In the boys’ meet, Austin Newcomb took first place in the long jump and the 100 meter dash, while Karl Klopfenstein and his brother Colin took the first two places in the pole vault.

 

The Lady Raiders track team finished 3rd of five teams and the boys team was fourth in a meet at Bluffton last night with Bluffton, Pandora Gilboa, Ada, and Fort Jennings.    Sara Priest won the 200 meter dash, Taylor Baumle was first in the pole vault, and Jenna Stoller was first in the 3200 meter run.  Sara Priest was second in the 100 meter dash and Jenna Stoller and Kayla Ehresman were both second in the 1600 meter run and the high jump respectively. In the boys’ meet, Austin Newcomb and Karl Klopfenstein both took second place in the long jump and pole vault respectively. 

 

The girls' track team finished 2nd of 4 schools and the boys were 4th in a meet at Hilltop.  Placing first in their events were Sara Priest in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, Jenna Stoller in the 1600, 800, and 3200 meter races.  Karl Klopfenstein was 1st in the pole vault.  One of the highlights of the meet was  the boys' 4 x 100 meter relay team of Travis Zartman, Pat Comer, Cody Feasby and Jake Reuille who pounded out a third place finish in that event.

 

The girls’ track team finished 2nd out of 4 schools and boys were 4th in a meet yesterday at Hilltop. Placing 1st in their events were Sara Priest in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, Jenna Stoller in the 1600-, 800-, and 3200-meter races, and Karl Klopfenstein in the pole vault. One of the highlights of the meet was the boys’ 4 x 100 meter relay team of Travis Zartman, Pat Comer, Cody Feasby and Jake Reuille, who pounded out a 3rd place finish in that event.

The boys’ track team lost to Fairview last night, 40 to 92. Karl Klopfenstein was 1st in the pole vault and Austin Newcomb won the 200-meter dash. The 4 x 100 relay team of Jared Myers, Jared Kimmel, Andrew Hartman and Austin Newcomb also took 1st place.

The girls’ track team defeated Fairview last night, 82 to 53. Placing 1st in the their events were Jenna Stoller in the 1600- and 800-meter run, Sara Priest in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, Taylor Baumle in the pole vault, Kelly Janka in the discus, and Kayla Ehresman in the high jump. The girls’ also won all of the relays. Participating on those relays were Ashley Litzenberg, Amanda Hill, Sara Lantow, and Jenna Stoller in the 4 x 800; Kacee hockenberry, Taylor Baumle, Kayla Ehresman, and Sara Priest in the 4 x 200; Taylor Baumle, Akke Akkerman, Kacee Hockenberry, and Sara Priest in the 4 x 100; Jenna Stoller, Amanda Hill, Ashley Litzenberg, and Kayla Ehresman in the 4 x 400.

                   

 

The high school girls’ track team finished 2nd of 4 teams in a meet at Hicksville last night. Finishing first in their events were Taylor Baumle (pole vault), Sara Priest (100 meter and 200 meter dash), Kayla Ehresman (high jump), Jenna Stoller (1600 meter run and 800 meter run), and the 400 meter relay team of Taylor Baumle, Kayla Ehresman, Kacee Hockenberry, and Sara Priest, and the 800 meter relay team of Taylor Baumle, Akke Akkerman, Kacee Hockenberry, and Sara Priest. The boys’ track team was 4th of 4 teams. Placing first in their respective events were Austin Newcomb in the long jump and Karl Klopfenstein in the pole vault.
