TRACK 2007 Meet Schedule Practice Schedule Plan
on running outside, unless the weather is uncooperative.
You must have… q
Everyone needs outdoor running
shoes q
Everyone needs indoor running shoes
(phys. ed. shoes) q
Everyone needs a water bottle (you
may fill it out of the fountains prior to practice if needed. q
Everyone needs clothing that will
work for indoors and/or outdoors (dress in layers) q
Everyone needs a towel to use
during practices, throwers also need to bring in an old towel to use for
cleaning or drying the shot and or disc q
Throwers need to bring in two empty
water bottles, or pop bottles, filled with dried beans, rice, or sand. (We will be using these as weights to help strengthen our
shoulder and arm muscles. Please
make sure that you can hold them in your hands…do not use a shorter wider
bottle if you need a taller narrower bottle.) *If you are playing softball, baseball or another sport…I will not hold it against you if you need to miss a practice now and again, just please let me know in advance. I understand that there are a lot of sports available for you to try before making a decision on what you enjoy most. I want everyone to have a successful year in track, and that means we will all need to work together to make this happen. *Your attendance is not the deciding factor for choosing for meets…if you want to be chosen for your first choice of events…that means you need to give effort for it and earn that position. *Everyone has homework, please do not ask to leave early to go do homework…you will be asked to balance your schedule so that you have time for everything. I will be following the handbook regarding participation in extra-curricular activities. Please place as much effort into your schoolwork as you do your participation in sports. This will guarantee that you will continue to be a part of the team.
