Installing Novell’s Web Server

Creating a location for your Web Server

We recommend that you place the necessary files on the SYS: volume in a directory called PATCHES. If such a directory does not current exist on your server, please create it now.

Downloading and extracting the Web Server

You can get the Novell web server directly from Novell. Use a web browser to connect to http://support.novell.com/. Once there, click on the File Finder and search for the file named webser31.exe.

Download the webser31.exe file to your SYS:PATCHES directory. Once that file is downloaded extract the file by typing the following at the DOS prompt:

   F:
   Cd \patches
   webser31.exe

This will create a directory called webserv under the SYS:PATCHES directory.
