**Ohio graduation Qualifying Exam must be passed to graduate beginning in 2007. Students who are in the 10th grade in 2005 will be the first class that will need to pass the Ohio Graduation Qualifying Exam.
DIPLOMA WITH HONORS (2008-2010)
-Paragraph G: To be rewarded a diploma with honors, the student shall be required to meet atleast all but one of the criteria listed beliw for either the college preparatory or the vocational education curriculum. A student shall not be required to meet more than the specified criterion.
1. The student who comples the college preparatory curriculum in High School shall meet at least seven of the following eight.
A. Earn four units of English;
B.Earn three units of Mathematics, which shall include at least the competencies obtained in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry;
C.Earn three units of Science including at least one unit in foundational science with an emphasis in Chemistry and at least one unit in an applied science with an emphasis on Biology;
D. Earn three units of Social Studies;
E. Except as provided in paragraph (J) of this rule, earn either three units of one foreign language or two units of two foreign languages;
F. Earn one unit of fine arts;
G. Either one unit of business/technology and two additional units in (a) through (f) above or earn three additional units in (a) through (f) above.
H. Maintain an overall high school grade point average of at least 3.5 on a four point scale up to the last grading period of the senior year.
I. Obtain a composite score of twenty-seven on the American College Testing Progams (ACT) tests or and equivalent score on the Scholastice Aptitude Test (SAT).
DIPLOMA WITH HONORS (2011 AND BEYOND)
English 4 units
Mathematics 4 units, including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra II or equivalent and another higher level course or a four-year sequence of courses that contain equvalent content.
Science 4 units, including Physics and Chemistry
Social Studies 4 units
Foreign Language 3 units, including at least 2 units in each lang. studied
Fine Arts 1 unit
Career-Technical Not counted toward requirements and may not be used to meet requirements
Electives Not counted toward requirements
Grade Point Average 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
ACT/SAT Score 27 ACT 1210 SAT

*Diploma with Honors requirements pre-suppose completion of all high school diploma requirements in Ohio Revised code include:

*SB 311 allows school districts to adopt a policy exempting students who participate in athletics, band or cheerleading for two full seasons from the physical education requirements.
